Description

The ExploraVision Science Competition is available to students in grades K-12.  You must work in a group of two, three or four students.  Each team will select a technology that is present in the home, school and/or community and explore what the technology does, how it works and how or why it was invented.  All Applicants must be citizens of the United States or Canada to be eligible.

DuPont Challenge Science Essay Competition

DuPont Challenge - Science Essay Awards Program

Description

The DuPont Challenge Science Essay Awards is open to students in grades seven to nine (Junior Division) and grades ten to twelve (Senior Division) who are attending a public or non-public school in the United States or Canada.  You must submit an essay between 700 and 1,000 words in length that discusses a scientific or technological development, event or theory that has captured your interest and attention.  The essay must be original, unpublished and written in English.

AAA Travel High School Challenge
AAA Travel High School Challenge

 

Award Amount: $10,000-$25,000                     Deadline Date: Dec 2004/Jan2005

 

Description
The AAA Travel High School Challenge is available to public, private and home-schooled students in grades 9-12 throughout the United States. The challenge begins with an online test held from January 10-19. The top five scorers in each state and the District of Columbia will advance to a 40-question proctored, written exam. The top exam scorer then will be named the state champion and advance to the national contest, to be held May 7-10 at Universal Orlando in Orlando, Florida. You must register on-line to create your unique student ID and password in advance of entering the competition in January. If you register early, before December 31, 2004, you have the opportunity of winning a $500 U.S. Saving Bond.

The AFSA National Scholarship Essay Contest is open to high school seniors who plan to further their education at a college, university or certified trade school. You must write a 700 to 1,000 word essay on the following topic: A successful fire sprinkler activation in your town, area, or state. Essays will be judged on content, accuracy, creativity/originality, and spelling/grammar/punctuation.
